OUR STORY

George Sly’s passion for agronomy and his concern about the health of the soils on his own farm led him on a fascinating journey of discovery. The Sly family farm in Lincolnshire is at the heart of the companies activities and the farm has fully adopted regenerative agricultural principles in the following ways;

• No-till direct drilling all combinable cereal crops

• Lengthening and diversifying the crop rotation and introducing cover crops

• Re-introducing sheep to graze over winter covers and provide valuable nutrients and biology to the soil

• Establishing all maize and sugar beet crops into living cover crops via strip-tillage

• Adopting agroforestry techniques by planting Hazelnut & Walnut Trees in 24m strips alongside the arable crops

• Reducing synthetic fertiliser and herbicide applications

As farmers, we recognise that to regenerate our soils whilst still producing economically viable crops, we require a new era of agricultural machinery that promotes soil health rather than destroys it.
