Who are Horizon Agricultural Machinery?
George Sly Founder, Managing Director
Horizon Agricultural Machinery Ltd manufacture a range of products, all aimed for farmers practicing regenerative farming. Our flagship product is our DSX No-Till Disc Drill, now supported by our MDSX Mounted No-Till Disc Drill, SPX Strip-Till and PPX Precision Planter. Based in rural Lincolnshire, Horizon started manufacturing machinery for the local UK market, with recent years seeing machinery sold all across the world.
Alongside our machinery, Horizon aim to share regenerative farming knowledge and collaborate with other experts to provide farmers with as many resources as possible to tackle the issues associated with modern intensive farming.

Our Story.
At the heart of Horizon Agricultural Machinery Ltd is a deep commitment to regenerative agriculture, rooted in both passion and personal experience. Our founder, George Sly, began his journey with a concern for the health of the soils on his family’s farm in Lincolnshire. Over the years, his passion for agronomy led him to explore innovative farming practices that have become the cornerstone of our company’s philosophy.
The Sly family farm serves as a living example of regenerative agriculture in action. We have fully embraced these principles, starting with no-till direct drilling for all combinable cereal crops. This method minimizes soil disturbance, preserving the natural structure and biology of the soil. Additionally, we have taken significant strides in lengthening and diversifying our crop rotation and introducing cover crops to protect and nourish the soil throughout the year.
In keeping with a holistic approach to farming, we have reintroduced sheep to graze over winter covers, a practice that not only helps manage the land but also returns valuable nutrients and biology to the soil. We are also pioneers in establishing maize and sugar beet crops into living cover crops through strip-tillage, ensuring that the land remains fertile and healthy even as we cultivate these demanding crops.
Our commitment to innovation extends to adopting agroforestry techniques, planting hazelnut and walnut trees in 24-meter strips alongside our arable crops. This not only diversifies our production but also contributes to the long-term health of the farm ecosystem. In line with our regenerative philosophy, we have also focused on reducing synthetic fertilizer and herbicide applications, striving to find natural alternatives that promote soil health.
As farmers ourselves, we understand the challenges of maintaining economically viable crops while regenerating our soils. This is why we’ve dedicated ourselves to imagining, developing, and manufacturing cutting-edge agricultural machinery that supports soil health rather than depletes it. Our mission is to challenge conventional perceptions, enhance efficiency, and make a real difference to both the environment and the farming community.
We’re a small, passionate team that’s here to support your journey toward more sustainable farming. Whether you’re interested in our machinery, want to learn more about our regenerative practices, or simply wish to connect, we’re always eager to engage. Together, we can cultivate a future where agriculture and nature work in harmony.
